Just passing the time

Well, here are some of the scrapbook pages I made for Adrie's book. This is just one of the projects I've been working on to keep myself busy so that I don't go stir crazy in my apartment. Sorry it is hard to see what they actually look like and what the journaling says, but I thought I'd share them anyhow. Enjoy!

Still waiting....

Baby shower #3

Here we are at my third baby shower with my co-workers. We had so much fun playing games like baby bingo, the clothes pin game and guess that celebrity mom. Conan won most of the games. It was too fun. He was a celebrity dad Jerry Springer and he guessed it in one clue. A special thanks to Aida for opening up her beautiful home for us to enjoy the shower and to Tammy for organizing the whole thing. We missed those who could not be there, but we sure had a good time.

38 Weeks and counting

Back by popular demand. The belly pics are back. Sorry I haven't kept you all updated on my belly growth, but I have had a rough last couple of weeks. It all started when I was 36 weeks and came down with a kidney/bladder infection that took an entire week to diagnose. At this time I was seen at the hospital and we found out that we were 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced (sp?). This was on Sunday the 12th and I saw my doc again on Tuesday the 14th and was 2cm dilated. At this point we were pretty excited and thought that we would have a kid within the next two days, but were also worried because she would be 4 weeks early and we still weren't sure if there was an infection or not. By the weekend the symptoms of a UTI were very present and even though the tests for infection were negative we got on antibiotics anyway. By my next doctors appointment which was Wednesday the 22nd we were at 3 cm and 60% effaced. The doctor then decided she wanted to strip my membranes to help things along. Well I cramped a little more after that, but nothing exciting. On Friday morning I lost the infamous "plug". Yeah, I almost barfed. So here we are on Saturday morning just hanging out waiting for some type of movement. We've tryed hiking up hills, speed walking, curb walking, and the unmentionable. Any suggestions on how to get the ball moving a little faster? We'll try anything.

Hunt for the perfect tree

The day after thanksgiving we went up to the mountains to find the perfect christmas tree. Of course we did not get one because we don't really have a place for it. Our Charlie Brown christmas tree (plant) will have to work for yet another year. However, Conan thinks that it may have a fungus and we may have to chuck it before we bring the baby home. In that case, maybe we'll be able to find a small christmas tree before christmas. We had fun anyhow searching with the Bradfords and hiking up and down the hills. Our goal was not only to find a christmas tree for the girls, but to induce labor. Did it work? Not so much, but we're still working on it. Here is a slide show of our hunt. Conan had fun hiding in the trees and scaring London while Sydney was miss independent trying to keep her footing up and down the hills. There was a cute wreath that we were able to snap some pics behind before my memory card filled up and Janelle's camara died. All in all we were able to create some very special memories and the girls were happy with their christmas tree find.

Giving Thanks

Giving Thanks

This year Conan and I were especially blessed to be able to join the Bradfords at Janelle's parent's house for Thanksgiving. It was so fun. I enjoyed visiting with her family and eating all day. Conan and the boys watched football for most of the day and even caught a quick snooze before they even ate any turkey. We are so glad that we went because we had considered staying home just in case I were to go into labor. Of course baby is still snug as a bug in there. I am however dilated to a 3 or more by now and have had other signs of things starting to move. It's just not happening fast enough. A big thanks to Janelle, Brandon and fam for making Conan, baby and I feel so welcome in their home for the holiday. We love you guys.
