Bottle Baby

Tonight I needed a little me time so I had Conan feed Adrie with the milk I had pumped and was able to get a few things done. I figured why not let Daddy feed you, since I've been up with you since 5:30am and daddy slept in until 8:00am. Grrrr! I was able to clean my kitchen, straighten up around the apartment and get some laundry done. Of course I would have rather given myself a pedicure, but we have company coming in a few days and our place is a disaster area. Anyhow, here are some pics of daddy and baby. Thanks for the me time Conan. Love you bunches.

Just hangin' out

Okay so after I tried everything last night to get my child to be content and just hang out. I decided to try laying her down on her changing pad in the bathroom with the fan running in hopes that she would calm down. It worked! Only for about 10 minutes, but hey. That was 10 minutes that I was able to spend putting stamps on my already late Christmas cards. They went out in the mail today by the way. So here are some pics of Adrie hangin' out in the bathroom.

Doggie Coat

Is this not the cutest coat. My grandmother's friend made one for Adrie and my sister's baby. I decided to put it on her today and try to take a walk. She was so mad after I put her in it and crashed like 5 minutes later. Needless to say we haven't gone on our walk because I decided to blog. Anyhow, thanks Ella Mae for the cute coat.

G&G Fisher

Here are some pics of Adrie's grandparents on Conan's side. They were able to come visit for Christmas and spoiled us rotten. They were a big help with our daughter who had been somewhat colic and very fussy. She is doing much better now, but it was nice to have them here to help with the endless bouncing and rocking that she needed to feel satisfied. A special thanks to Steve and Carol for all of their help with Adrie. Love you guys.

Hangin' with Grandpa Steve

Binki Girl

Adrie loves her binki. Conan took these pics and I thought they were too cute so I thought I'd share them.

Game Day

Since Conan and I moved to California we have become big Colts fans. Our favorite player on the team is of course Peyton Manning. For Conan's "daddy gift" I got him a colts jersey and Adrie a colts onsie. For my birthday Conan bought me a colts jersey. Both Peyton Manning jerseys. Adrie's onsie was a bit too big but it is cute and she will grow into it. The colts played the Houston Texans today and lost by a field goal. Bummer. This puts them at 11 wins and 4 losses. We didn't get to see the game due to the fact that it wasn't televised, but we still wore our jerseys to support the team and watched the highlights during the half times of the other games that were on. Go Colts....better luck next game.

Happy Holidays

Just a quick blog to let everyone know that we will be sending out our Christmas card/letter this year. It will be late however considering we have been so busy with Miss Adrie. We also left our address book at Fed ex the other day and no one turned it in. OOooops! So now I have to scramble to get everyones address. Boo hoo! It may take me a while, but it will get done. I just hope I don't forget anyone. Merry Christmas everyone.

Swing time

Adrie tried her swing for the first time today. She was content for a while then decided that she would rather be held. She's spoiled already.

Rub-a-dub!

Adrie had her very first "real" bath tonight and she wasn't sure what to think. There were more pics of her screaming, but they were a little too revealing if you know what I mean. She calmed down when I turned the faucet on. She really likes the sound of running water. She also loves having her head washed. She just lays there like "aaahhhhh". After the bath we cozied in her towel and she found her thumb. Then she peed right on my lap. Thanks Adrie. She seems to really like sucking on her hands and she takes the binki well. We try to keep her hands covered for scratching purposes and we really don't want her to be dependent on her binki, but I think that we will eventually lose this battle and she will be a true blue thumb sucker. We'll just have to see.

Santa's little reindeer

Okay so this may ruin my christmas card all together, but I couldn't help it. Is she not adorable in this outfit. My husbands grandmother gave Adrie this outfit in September and we had fun playing dress up today. She was a good sport and let me take pics until my heart was content. What a cute little rudolph.

Adrie's first bath at home

Here are some pics of Adrie's first bath at home. She hated the sponge bath part, but loved having her head washed. Her cord fell off this morning at 5am so soon we will be able to give her a real bath.

I love my daddy

From the first moment Conan and Adrieanne layed eyes on each other they were in love. He has a way with her and she loves him so much. Just the sound of his voice soothes her and if I am holding her and he starts talking she will turn her head to look for him. It is too cute to watch him be content doing nothing but sit on the couch and watch her all day long. He is such a good daddy. He even changes the dirty diapers and will get up at night to help me if she is fussy. I love him so much more and I never knew that could be possible. Thank heavens for little girls.

Proud Grandparents

It's funny how once you become a parent yourself, you realize just how much your parents love you. My parents were able to be here for Adrie's birth and I was so blessed to have them here. I could not have done it without them. They were amazing. Mom was the best breast feeding coach and dad had many encouraging words of wisdom. I bawled like a baby when they left and still get teary eyed when I think of just how much she is going to grow before they get to see her again. They love her so much. Thanks for everything mom and dad. I love you so much and would not have been able to do it without you.

Happy birthday to me

So I turned the big 24 today and can say quite honestly that it was the best birthday ever. My favorite gift came 6 days early and I love her so much. I can't believe I am a mommy. We had a pretty layed back day just hanging out after Conan finished his last final. Then we enjoyed pizza and carrot cake with the Bradfords. London was so happy to finally meet Adrie and she kept calling her cutie head. My favorite was when she said, "Jay, I love your baby she's so juicy". I thought I would die laughing it was so cute. Sydney was loving on her too. While Janelle was holding her Syd would nuzzle up to Adrie and rub her cheek on Adrie's head. It was so cute, but I missed the photo op every time she did it. Sydney seemed comfortable with Janelle holding the baby, but when Brandon got a hold of her Sydney didn't want to share. She is such a daddies girl and it looks like Adrie will be the same. Thanks to everyone who called to wish me a happy bday. I had a great day.

Modest......what's that?

Okay, so I'm sure that many mothers can relate to this one or maybe I'm just weird. Childbirth has stolen my modesty. I used to be the most modest person in the world and now I could care less who sees me naked. My poor dad has had to get used to this drastic change being that he was here for the birth (sitting in the corner staring at the wall) and has been here for all of the trials of early breast feeding. Though I feel bad for him, it is kind of funny to watch him avert his eyes away from me at feeding time. We've gotten to the point now that we just laugh at each other. Breast feeding has been less than fun for me and the baby. I am very sore and engorged. They are like two giant rocks and it just feels better to be without a shirt. I guess I should work on keeping the shirt on and trying to cover up a little bit or I'll never be able to take my baby out in public. One thing is for sure if I ever decided to put in an application at Hooters I'd be hired on the spot.

Here's Adrie

Just a quick blog to let you all know that baby is finally here. She was born 7lbs 13 oz, 21 inches long at 5:13pm on December 8th. She has Conan's ears and looks nothing like me though grandpa begs to differ. She's tons of fun so far and we love having her here. Feel free to stop by and visit anytime.

Labor fake outs

Okay, so I am just a little more than discouraged considering I thought my little tyke was coming 3 weeks ago. We've had more than one labor fake out and it is really getting old. I had my doctor appointment on Monday this week and was dilated to a 4. She then stretched my cervix and for the next day and a half I had the worst cramping and back pain. I thought for sure we would have her by today, but now the pain is gone and I only have occasional contractions. BOO!! The good news however is that she will be here for sure on Friday the 8th if not before. My doctor wanted to induce the labor because she really doesn't want me walking around this dilated with no progress. I think I'm in for some really hard work on Friday. Hopefully the little bugar just decides to come out after like one push. Is that possible. Anyhow, thanks to everyone for your encouraging words and prayers. Hopefully the next pregnancy, labor, and delivery is better than this one has been. I am expecting a perfect angel of a baby by the way. Wink wink!

Just passing the time

Well, here are some of the scrapbook pages I made for Adrie's book. This is just one of the projects I've been working on to keep myself busy so that I don't go stir crazy in my apartment. Sorry it is hard to see what they actually look like and what the journaling says, but I thought I'd share them anyhow. Enjoy!

Still waiting....

Baby shower #3

Here we are at my third baby shower with my co-workers. We had so much fun playing games like baby bingo, the clothes pin game and guess that celebrity mom. Conan won most of the games. It was too fun. He was a celebrity dad Jerry Springer and he guessed it in one clue. A special thanks to Aida for opening up her beautiful home for us to enjoy the shower and to Tammy for organizing the whole thing. We missed those who could not be there, but we sure had a good time.

38 Weeks and counting

Back by popular demand. The belly pics are back. Sorry I haven't kept you all updated on my belly growth, but I have had a rough last couple of weeks. It all started when I was 36 weeks and came down with a kidney/bladder infection that took an entire week to diagnose. At this time I was seen at the hospital and we found out that we were 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced (sp?). This was on Sunday the 12th and I saw my doc again on Tuesday the 14th and was 2cm dilated. At this point we were pretty excited and thought that we would have a kid within the next two days, but were also worried because she would be 4 weeks early and we still weren't sure if there was an infection or not. By the weekend the symptoms of a UTI were very present and even though the tests for infection were negative we got on antibiotics anyway. By my next doctors appointment which was Wednesday the 22nd we were at 3 cm and 60% effaced. The doctor then decided she wanted to strip my membranes to help things along. Well I cramped a little more after that, but nothing exciting. On Friday morning I lost the infamous "plug". Yeah, I almost barfed. So here we are on Saturday morning just hanging out waiting for some type of movement. We've tryed hiking up hills, speed walking, curb walking, and the unmentionable. Any suggestions on how to get the ball moving a little faster? We'll try anything.

Hunt for the perfect tree

The day after thanksgiving we went up to the mountains to find the perfect christmas tree. Of course we did not get one because we don't really have a place for it. Our Charlie Brown christmas tree (plant) will have to work for yet another year. However, Conan thinks that it may have a fungus and we may have to chuck it before we bring the baby home. In that case, maybe we'll be able to find a small christmas tree before christmas. We had fun anyhow searching with the Bradfords and hiking up and down the hills. Our goal was not only to find a christmas tree for the girls, but to induce labor. Did it work? Not so much, but we're still working on it. Here is a slide show of our hunt. Conan had fun hiding in the trees and scaring London while Sydney was miss independent trying to keep her footing up and down the hills. There was a cute wreath that we were able to snap some pics behind before my memory card filled up and Janelle's camara died. All in all we were able to create some very special memories and the girls were happy with their christmas tree find.

Giving Thanks

Giving Thanks

This year Conan and I were especially blessed to be able to join the Bradfords at Janelle's parent's house for Thanksgiving. It was so fun. I enjoyed visiting with her family and eating all day. Conan and the boys watched football for most of the day and even caught a quick snooze before they even ate any turkey. We are so glad that we went because we had considered staying home just in case I were to go into labor. Of course baby is still snug as a bug in there. I am however dilated to a 3 or more by now and have had other signs of things starting to move. It's just not happening fast enough. A big thanks to Janelle, Brandon and fam for making Conan, baby and I feel so welcome in their home for the holiday. We love you guys.

Crib and rocker

The babies room is far from finished, but the crib is up and the bedding is done. All thanks to my friend Janelle who slaved night and day sewing like a feind to finish Adrie's beautiful quilt, crib skirt, and rocker cushion covers. Thank you so much Janelle, I am so blessed to have such a wonderful, caring, and creative friend.

Cutie Girlies

Lundi and Syd think Baby Adrie's bed is pretty cool. They like to play in her room and with the toys she has already accumulated. Now that the crib is up and the bedding is all finished thanks to their mommy Janelle, Syd has already snuggled up to take a nap with baby Adrie's quilt and lambies. Unfortunately I didn't take a pic of Syd snoozing, but I'm sure you all know it was too cute.
