It's gonna be a good day!

Adrie is generally very happy first thing in the morning. She loves to lay on her changing pad and smile at Conan and I. She also likes to look at herself in the mirror. What a cutie bug.

Last night some ladies from the church got together to play a really fun game called Bunko. We had lots of fun rolling the dice, eating yummy snacks and having good fellowship. Thanks to Kelly and Linda for teaching us all to play.

OOooooppppssss

Okay so on the previous blog I accidently posted a pic of Conan in his under-roos. Oops! Thanks to Janelle's sisters for bringing that to my attention. I must have a little placenta brain left over. Sorry to anyone who may have been offended, but most of all sorry to Conan. He'll just have to learn that he needs to be camera ready always with a new baby in the house. Hee hee!

Play time with daddy

Adrie is starting to play now. She is too cute. She smiles and coos at Conan while he shakes her rattle for her. Of course this only keeps her content for a few minutes between screaming bouts. Fun times.

Thumbs Up!

Tonight Adrie chose her thumb. She was being so good while I made dinner. She was just hanging out sucking her thumb until she fell asleep. So today was a good day and I think I'll keep her. She seems to really favor her left hand. Does this mean that she will be left handed?

Finger Sucker

Okay, so maybe instead of sucking her thumb, Adrie will suck her fingers. After the Colts game, she woke up from a nap and went straight for the fingers. I was laughing so hard. She was too cute and I just had to take pics. It reminded me of my little brother who sucked the same two fingers on his right hand. I've been waiting for her to find her thumb for the last couple of weeks. It's a hard habbit to break, but it's easier than chasing that stinking binki around.

Colts are going to the Super Bowl!!!

For those of you who did not watch the football game tonight, the Colts are going to the Super Bowl. They played the New England Patriots, their all time rivals, and won 38-34 after an interception by Joseph Adai sp?. Adrie was sleeping so Conan and I had to celebrate quietly and with an air chest bump. Now it's time to plan a super bowl party. All in favor? Let's go Colts beat the Bears!

Adrie's first owie

Well, today I felt once again like the worst mom ever. I was clipping Adrie's nails and cut her thumb. She was so mad and cried forever. Real tears and everything. Poor baby. I felt horrible. Conan made a little dressing for her thumb out of papertowel and scotch tape because we didn't have any bandaids small enough. Her thumb wouldn't stop bleeding and she was just getting more mad with us holding pressure to try to stop the bleeding. When his dressing didn't work I cut up a bandaid and so far it has worked. She cried so hard and has been sleeping ever since. I had to call my mom to tell her what I had done and she made me feel somewhat better by telling me "Oh, it's okay, when you were little I poked you with a cloth diaper pin." Thanks mom. Sorry baby Adrie, mommy loves you.

See how much I've grown

The first pics are of Adrie at about 8 days old. I thought I would take a pic of her each month for a year in her rocking chair with her lamb to see how much she grows. The other pics are of her at 1 month old and needless to say, she wasn't a happy camper. She has grown so much. She is now 10 lbs. 6 oz. WOW!

Fun in the sun...and the wind

Feeling rather adventurous, Conan and I along with Colin and Lacey joined the Bradfords for a day at the beach. We went to Halfmoon Bay and watched the Maverick waves come crashing in. It was awesome. We were even there for low tide and were able to walk through the tide pools. Fun times! Adrie had a very good day and stayed bundled and warm in her carseat/stroller out of the wind. By the end of the day we were all freezing with runny noses, but it was a fun day. FYI pushing a stroller in the sand = good booty workout.

Girls day out

Thanks to Janelle we were able to get out for about an hour the other day to pamper ourselves. My friend Lacey was here with her fiance Colin (Conan's best friend)and she was able to join us while Conan and Colin stayed with the baby. Lacey had her nails done while Janelle, London, and I had our feet done. It had been a while for me and my feet were awful. The lady that did my toes wore gloves the hole time. I didn't even shave my legs before we went so not only were my feet discusting, but my legs were too. Needless to say, she got a good tip. I felt kinda sorry for her. I'm sure she's seen worse...I hope.
