Season's Greetings

So it's not quite a christmas card, but this year it will have to do. I just wanted to wish everyone a happy holiday and hope this season finds you and yours happy, healthy, and blessed. I will not be writing a Christmas letter this year because I am too stressed and pressed for time, but here is a short bit about 2008 for the Fisher Fam. I have been working at St Anthony Hospital since January as a Medical-Surgical nurse and have had many opportunities to float to other units such as CCU, Labor and Delivery and ER for training. I've had many great experiences and some trying ones too. All have made me grow as a nurse. I still love it. Conan opened his Chiropractic practice in February and has been doing great. He loves his work and his patients adore him. He continues to come in handy when I need a little tweak. So nice. We bought our first house in June and it is so nice to have our own place. The only downfall is having a huge lawn to mow and a big driveway to shovel snow out of. A huge thanks to Conan for keeping up with that. Tee hee hee! Hey, I keep the inside clean! Anyhow, August rolled around and we encountered a huge bump in the road. I was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer. The following months were full of diagnostic testing leading to my first surgery in October and now the second tomorrow. Yikes! But no worries, God is good. After surgery we plan to recoup some then will be getting cancer treatment in a town about 45 minutes away. I will have to take Radioactive Iodine and will have to be away from my family for a time due to being radioactive. After treatment we will hopefully get a clean bill of health and be able to move on to the next thing on my agenda.....have another baby. It's been on my to do list since before my diagnosis and every day since, but I am trusting in God's will and timing for these things. And even if we don't get to have another one we have such a wonderful little girl whom we adore more than anything in the world. Speaking of Miss Adrie, nothing like saving the best for last. Adrie turned 2 this December and she has grown so much. She talks and sings up a storm. She's potty trained and loves her big girl panties. She can count to 20 and sing her ABC's and loves to read books and listen to music. She also loves her baby dolls. Such a good little mommy. Her favorite things to do are put on mommy's makeup and anyones "lippy" aka. chap stick. She is also a great big helper when it comes to cooking and cleaning. She also helped me decorate and de-decorate the christmas tree. Well, I think that's enough for now. I pray for all the happiness this world has to offer you as we start a new year. Merry Christmas

So I just got a few pics of our Christmas morning and sledding adventure before my camera batteries either died or froze. We had a great morning and Adrie loved opening gifts. We loved watching her so much that we let her open ours. The first gift she got was a pair of shoes so her jammies had to come off. This explains all of the near naked christmas pics. She then got new princess panties in her stocking so she then had to change her underwear before we could proceed. It was such a fun morning. We got all bundled up and went up the road to sled. It was great for a bit then Adrie just wanted to swing on the nearby swing set at the school. I got some cute videos of her sledding and will post them later. The best part of our Christmas day was when Adrie busted out her play microphone she got from her Uncle Teeter and sang "Happy Birthday to Jesus". So cute.

Lost and Found

While working on Adrie's book I came across a folder titled "Bradfords" so as I browsed through the photos I found these. They were taken just after Cairo was born. These pics made me happy and sad all at once. I miss my family and haven't seen them for almost 1 year. After being inseperable for 3 years the withdrawls are more than I can take. At this point my health is the only thing keeping me from catching the next flight to Utah. I miss you Bradford Bunch!

Morning Foffee and Chores

Okay so she doesn't call it foffee anymore, but it was so cute when she did. She insisted on having breakfast like mommy so she got cranberry juice in a coffee mug and cereal, just like me. After breakfast she got dressed and went out to help daddy mow the lawn while I did a few indoor chores. So cute.

Fisher Fam Fall Festival

Since Kristin, David and Madison were here just before the holidays we decided to do a hoiday combo party. We celebrated Thanksgiving, Christmas and Birthdays. We had dinner, played games, colored and opened gifts. It was fun. We tried to get the three girls to peek out of the pumpkin, but could only get two at a time. Who ever peeked out of the mouth ended up crawling through it. I think they had a good time. Adrie got a necklace, purse and bracelet from JOjo and enjoyed it throughly. As you can tell.

Maddi Girl

At the beginning of November my sister-in-law Kristin and her husband David and daughter Madison came from South Carolina for a visit. It was great to visit and spend time with them. It had been almost 1 year since we had seen them last...that's way too long between visits. Maddi is 2 months younger than Adrie and it was interesting to see how different the two are. Maddi has a very sweet and loving personality and loves animals. She has quite the arm as well, she loves playing catch. While Adrie on the other hand is much more out spoken and tough headed and sorry to say isn't much of a sportster as of yet. I guess that's my fault being that I am the least sporty person on the face of the earth. Getting all three girls (Adrie, Maddi, and Jojo) together was so great. I sure wish they lived closer.

Gymnastics Show

So the pics aren't very good because of the lighting and my battery died part way through so Conan had a challenging time getting a good shot, but here is Adrie at her gymnastics show. She has been in gymnastics since this summer and just loves it. She had a show at the end of a 10 week session where all of the classes were combined and she did awesome. We weren't sure how she would do because she isn't a fan of large crowds, but she didn't seem to mind. Maybe she is growing out of that. Plus my mother was there and against my wishes did not hide herself from AA until after the show so she was having Gram Gram issues before the show started and I worried that she wouldn't perform...but she did. Yeah Adrie!

These Two...What Can I Say?

Here is Adrie with her cousin Megan Jo or "Jojo".These two are best buds. They are too funny when they get together. You never know what you are going to get. Very entertaining.

Hot Date to Home Depot

The other day Arlee came over and we took a quick trip to Home Depot. I was looking for a closet organizer for Miss A which was not in my price range and Arlee was picking up things to finish up her kitchen remodel. It was a fun day and the kids enjoyed each others company.

What Next?!

Okay, so apparently Mr. Satan is trying his darndest to have his way with me. Not only am I still fighting off a cold, trying to avoid a bladder infection and dealing with my latest diagnosis and future medical decisions....my kid is sick. She just got over a cold a week or so ago and now since Saturday has been running a high fever. I took her to the doctor today and they are sending a urine specimen to the lab in case she has a urinary tract infection because she has no symptoms and has us scratching our heads. No cough, no runny nose, no ear infection, no teeth coming in (that I can tell...I'm not having much luck looking or feeling for those 2 year molars), no signs of pain. Just stinking fever. Our doc put her on Keflex antibiotic until the results of her test comes back. After her appointment was over we headed to the pharmacy to pick up her meds and of course it's Monday and took forever. So we went and had lunch while we were waiting and by the time we got home her temp was 104.2. I about lost it. She has never had a fever that high. I'm starting to get kind of freaked out, but have just been praying my tail off over her. Give me any illness, just leave my little girl alone. She is still in good spirits and eating and drinking well for the most part, but naturally I worry. I keep telling myself God is in control and everything will be fine. So I'll just keep rebuking the devil and praying like mad. Any bit of inspiration and prayer from my loved ones at this point is definitely needed and surely appreciated. Luvs to all.

Dreaded News

Well, I don't quite have all of the medical terminology down just yet, but the dreaded news came last Tuesday that I did infact have thyroid cancer. The doctor said it was a 2 cm nodule and was a fiborous form of papilloma carcinoma. I know I probably butchered the spelling but oh well. I had a rough few days following the news, but am starting to feel better. I see my surgeon on the 24th and will go over a plan and possibly be referred to an oncologist. We shall see. For now thank you all for your kind words and prayers. They are all very much needed at this point. It looks like I'll be having another surgery in the very near future to remove the left side of my thyroid and then will have to take radioactive iodine to kill the remaining cancer cells. It has been said that thyroid cancer is the best form of cancer to have and the easiest to get rid of. So in a way it is a blessing that the diagnosis wasn't worse. I will have to take a thyroid pill for the rest of my days which I wasn't happy about at first, but am starting to accept. Well, wish me luck and please, please, please continue to pray. God is so good and we will get through this.

Halloween

Halloween was busy for us after visiting grandparents we went to the church for the annual harvest festival. It was so fun Adrie found some balloons and wouldn't let them go. She even jumped in the bounce house with them. She noticed all of the shoes at the base of the big kids jump house and was in awe. Thankfully the balloon distracted her and we didn't have a melt down from not being able to trying on other kids shoes. She was too cute in her costume and it was a fun night.

Adrie's Lady Bug Costume

About 4 days after my surgery I started feeling human again and tackled this project. It took me about 6 hours all together working on it over 2 days. I think it turned out great. With some of the left over scraps I made Adrie a little Trick or Treat bag and of course she loved it. I made a 3T because that is the size of most of her clothes now. She's not even 2 yet! Naturally it came out too big, but she'll be able to play dress up with it for a long time. If anyone wants there kid to be a lady bug next year you know where to get the costume.

Carving/Decorating Pumpkins

There is nothing like this time of year. Fall is by far my favorite season ever. I love everything about it. The sights and the sounds are so wonderful. I never knew how much I missed fall here. It is just so different from fall in California. We took Adrie to our local gym to decorate pumpkins which she did on Gram Gram's lap. It was too cute. We also carved pumpkins at my aunt and uncle's annual pumpkin carving contest. Adrie and Gram Gram (or just Gram) carved the kitty and got 2nd place I believe. Then Conan and Adrie carved the Colts pumpkin it was cute to watch her get her hands slimmy.

Pumpkin Patch

Conan was so great to take part of his day off of work and take Adrie and I to our favorite pumpkin patch for a hay ride and search for the great pumpkin. It was a fun time and I was so glad to get out and enjoy my family before my big surgery day. Thanks Conan! Adrie was so cute. She wanted nothing to do with the pumpkins but really loved the hay ride and just wanted to stay on the trailer the whole time.
