Update on Jay
Doing great! I had my surgery on Friday the 24th and that was an experience. I only had to take pain meds for two days following my surgery then switched to Motrin for a day or so. The pain in my neck was minimal for the most part unless I yawned or sneezed then watch out. The worst of it was the back of my neck and head. I don't even want to know what funky position they had me in for surgery though I have a pretty good idea. They only had to take out the right thyroid lobe because the frozen pathology came back negative for cancer cells, praise the Lord. However, they still have to slice and dice it up to test every last piece of it. My Dr. thinks it will all come back negative because the nodule was soft and spongy....gross huh? Poor Adrie, the first time she saw my "owie" she started crying and was acutally scared of me. Then she ran to the bathroom with my mom and got herself a Dora bandaid to put on her hand which stayed there for over 24 hours. Such a funny girl. All and all we are doing good and I am starting to feel human again as my mind, body and spirit heal. I tell ya what stress and anxiety does a number on you. I just had my first normal feeling day yesterday and I was able to whip out Adrie's halloween costume in just a few hours. I'll post pics later. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. Sorry this is such a long update!

Our Living Room
Here is our living room. The wall is a dark green and we only have to get curtains up on one more window. I can't seem to find the right fit just yet. I can't wait for this room to be finished because Adrie's room is next. We are going to do a Princess and the Frog theme. Funny thing I was surfing the web for cute decorating ideas and came across a Disney movie of the Princess and the Frog that will be out in 2009. Can't wait.
Obsess Much?
Adrie is such a girly girl. Every day she has to pick out her own shoes. She loves to wear my flip flops around and can even run and climb stairs in them. If she has one of her cousins over to play she always wants to trade shoes even if their shoes don't fit her feet. She even squeezed her feet into one of my sisters day care kids size 4 the other day. She wears size 7. Yea, I keep telling her we aren't into feet binding, but she doesn't seem to care. She's obsessed.

What's goin' on...
Well, it's been more than a little stressful at the Fisher home. I started working day shift and am loving it, but it is change just the same. I am part of 3 committees at work (wow!). Adrie is working on her 2 year molars...pretty sure, and waking up 2-3 times during the night. She is fighting a little cold right now which I believe is due to her teething. I am really behind on all of my projects from blogging to sewing her new bedding for her toddler bed, to making her halloween costume, to scrapbooking to painting/decorating the next room in our house. And it's all about to get pushed farther and farther back, because the stressor of all stresses is upon us. I was diagnosed with having a right thyriod nodule and am going to have surgery to remove this so called nodule along with the entire right lobe of my thyroid. Our hope is that the nodule is non-malignant and that I just have to recoup from surgery. Our fear is that it is malignant, I get my entire thyroid removed, have to be on thyroid replacement for the rest of my life and then have to check for cancer elsewhere via scans and other diagnostic testing and then it goes on from there. So needless to say I've been a little stessed out. We have lots of support from family and friends and continuous prayers going up. I'm trying to stay focused on the positives and to spend every special moment I can with my family. Please forgive me if my blogging gets even more spaced out...I thought I was too busy to blog before. Wish me luck!

Big Girl Bed
Yup, it's true. One of my goals this summer was to have Adrie in a toddler bed. She did awesome. It only took 2 separate trys. The first time Conan and I lasted a week and decided she wasn't ready. Less than a month later we tried again and after 1 week she was done with her crib. We took her crib down last night and I will post pics of Adrie being a big helper. She was too cute. Now she has tons of space to play. Such a big girl.
