Any Advice?????

Okay, so for the past month or so Adrie has been testing my patience with her vocal capability. She started by "squealing" for fun but is now screaming to be naughty. I've tried lightly popping her mouth, but that doesn't work and breaks my heart. I've even tried screaming back which just about scared the pee out of her. At first I nearly died laughing but then felt bad for scarring her. Ignoring her works sometimes, but I want her to understand that naughty screaming is inappropriate. Thanks to mom and Conan for egging her on by laughing at her during her fun "squealing" times. Grrrrrrr and oooohhhh the challenges of raising a 16 month old.

Ethan used to scraem and squeal just for the heck of it all the time back when he was 15 months. He never really did it to be naughty, but it was still very annoying and it had to stop. I think sometimes he did it without even realizing it so everytime he did it I would put my finger over his mouth and and say "shhhhhhhh, you're too loud". And I'd give him my unhappy/mad face. That way he realized that what he was doing was not making me happy (I was doing this seriously all the time since he screamed so much). It eventually ended since it was "just a phase" I guess. I think it also helped when he was able to communicate with me. I don't know what kind of talker Adrie is, but the screaming may stop when she can tell you exactly what's wrong. Good luck!
